Arriving at their new home, Cleopatra is shown her room by Donna Ven, only to face an immediate test of her arranged marriage. Her new husband, Alessandro, casually suggests she sleep on the sofa. Refusing to be dismissed, Cleopatra turns his own condescending offer back on him. She declares she won't follow his stupid rules and insists the couch is his problem, establishing she won't be a passive partner in this unconventional arrangement.
